Kelly Scallion

KELLY SCALLION is a STOTT Pilates Instructor trained in Level 1+2 Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels, and has also been trained in Pilates ISP (injuries and special populations). Kelly also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance and Theatre from Manhattanville College, 2006.

Kelly has a deep kinesthetic understanding of the body and the ways it can move because of her many years of Modern Dance training. Kelly is a challenging and energetic instructor who prides herself in helping clients to reach their individual potential, while understanding their personal needs and goals.

Before becoming a Pilates Instructor, Kelly danced with numerous choreographers including Germane Brown (hip-hop), Jeanine Klem-Thomas (jazz/ funk), Julia Gleich (ballet), Valerie Pullman (modern), Ara Fitzgerald (modern), Arthur Fredrick (jazz), John Mario Sevilla (modern), Keeley Garfield (modern), Neta Pulvermacher (experimental/modern), Nicholas Leichter (modern), Jeannie Hill (tap), Andrea Del Conte (flamenco), and Candice Hundley (African-Caribbean).

Kelly was also a dancer for the WNBA Connecticut Sun Dance team at Mohegan Sun Arena. Kelly was a Dancer in Clark Dance Theatre, a New Haven-based Modern Dance Company. Kelly has formerly taught Hip Hop, Modern, Lyrical, and Jazz Classes at Dance City and the Arts in Southington, Connecticut.

While teaching Pilates, Kelly also owns Pure Body Pilates in Old Saybrook, and also teaches Pilates at Evolution Pilates (one of the CT STOTT Pilates certification center). Kelly is also a certified Zumba instructor, and dances hip-hop at United Rhythms in her free time.
